Having taken interest in learning during childhood, the confirmation of psychology studies results on the importance of learning in childhood, the possibility of literature in transmitting complex pedagogical and educational principles to children in simple and attractive language and the emergence and development of audio and visual means have led to this type of artistic and literary work being the focus of current critics. Consequently, we witness the spread of multiple and prominent effects in this area. In addition to literary creations in child's literature, criticism and study of these works in their various dimensions are of great importance. This research aims at studying a specific sample of children's stories in Lebanon from the standpoint of prevailing values. We selected this sample from the publications of one of the publishers specialized in the literature of children in the Arab world, namely Lebanese “Dar Al-Hada’ik". We stopped at some of her stories published between 1995 and 2001. From our research it seems that the most important functions of child's literature is to address the prevailing values in human society, and social in particular.
The emphasis on values in the story of children is closely linked to the elements of the story that highlights the artistic and creative aspect of the children stories.
